Originally from Elkhart, Indiana, David joined our firm as an associate in 1996 and became a partner in 2001. David is a graduate of Indiana State University (1993) and Indiana University School of Law (1996) and his primarily practice areas include estate planning and administration, business and corporate law, and real estate. David also serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Southern Indiana where he teaches a course in business law. David began studying aviation at Indiana State University and obtained his private pilot certificate and instrument rating. Although he originally planned to pursue a career as a commercial airline pilot, during his course of study he found himself drawn to areas of business and finance. He enrolled in courses to obtain a minor in Business Administration and decided to pursue a career in law. Although David rarely gets a chance to fly anymore, he does still enjoy “tinkering” with technology and is responsible for working with the firm’s computer consultants to make sure that the office’s computer and networking needs are met. David's interests involve outdoor activities, including backpacking, camping, and canoeing. His outdoor interests have taken him to the rain forests in Corcovado National Park in Costa Rica, and to the peak of Mt. Snowden, the highest mountain in Wales. David has also spent several vacations helping the Sierra Club with service trips in places such as Big Sur, California, and Capital Reef National Park, Utah. When at home, David enjoys reading, gardening, and spending time with friends.
